Adding Assets with associated barcodes

To add create new Assets on the WorkPal system, you will require a series of printed barcode stickers. Standard barcodes are encoded with a barcode number. If you have several batches of stickers, you should ensure there are no duplicates numbers.

When on-site, if the Mobile User is presented with a new piece of customer equipment that they would like to add as an Asset with a barcode, they should first place a new barcode sticker on the equipment.

On the Job page, within the WorkPal app, they should then scroll down to the Assets section and tap the "Scan" button:

This will open the camera viewfinder. When they point the camera at the barcode, the app will capture the barcode and open the new Asset screen. The encoded number on the barcode will automatically be entered into the Asset No field:

The Mobile User can then enter the remainder of the information about the equipment on this screen before tapping the "Create Asset" button at the bottom of the screen. The Asset has now been created on the Site that the current Job is assigned to. The Asset is also included in the current Job.
